Where you’ll learn
Flagstaff sits on the Colorado Plateau at 7,000 feet, surrounded by the Grand Canyon, Sedona’s red rocks, the San Francisco volcanic field, and Meteor Crater. Geology courses use all of it: introductory field trips read the stratigraphy at Sedona and East Clear Creek, upper-division courses map in southern Utah and run the San Juan River’s canyons, and expedition courses range from Death Valley to the Yampa River.
