Graduate students are admitted to work with a specific advisor, so the best first step is to find the faculty whose work interests you and write to them. These faculty are recruiting for 2027/28.

is expected and welcome. Faculty can tell you whether they have funding
and whether your interests fit the work they have underway, which is
hard to judge from an application alone.

A graduate student to join work on Emory oak, a foundational and culturally significant tree of Madrean oak woodlands, within a long-term partnership with Western Apache Nations.
One to two students for NSF-funded research in amino acid biogeochemistry, across two complementary projects: racemization dating of marine mollusk shells, and organic matter cycling in lake sediments.
Three funded PhD positions, each on a different project, all starting Spring or Fall 2027: paleoclimate data assimilation, wildfire smoke and aerosols, and AI emulators of lake models.
